New Blog 2

Never mind that last post. My new blog has another theme that is much more user friendly. It's still the same web address: tiberisvilla.tumblr.com

I may be experimenting for awhile, so it may change every now and then. If the title is "Tiberi's Villa" rest assured that it is mine, regardless of what it looks like.

**And don't hesitate to sign up under Disqus so you can comment. It's pretty simple, and I always enjoy comments!

New Blog

I'm officially moving my blog to a new site: "tiberisvilla.tumblr.com"

Here's a screen shot of the home page:

The site may be a little complicated, so I thought I'd offer some instructions. Instead of new posts being listed above older posts with site navigation simply requiring scrolling down the page, this new site will show each new post as a new "piano key" on the left of the screen. If you scroll over the key, a gray arrow will appear. If you click on this it will take you to a dedicated page for that particular post. At the top of that post, you'll see this:

If you click on the left arrow, it will take you to a newer post, the right arrow to an older post, and the three vertical lines will take you back to the home screen that shows the ten most recent posts (it's the same as the screenshot above).

I hope all of this makes sense! Feel free to leave me comments on the new site or on this post letting me know what you think. I'm open to going back to the traditional style (there are plenty of similar options on tumblr), but I thought it may be fun to use something different.

One more thing: Tumblr identifies various types of posts such as text, photos, videos, quotes, etc. If the key is smaller and black, it's probably video or a music file.

Graduate Work

Here it is - three years of graduate work and $xx,xxx all in one stack. In six weeks, I'll get another piece of paper that says this pile of papers is legit. That will be a good day.

Mom's First Cup of Coffee

My wonderful mother is back in Seattle this week helping Ashley and I out with Calais while I finish up my last week at my internship. Although I'm certain she's thrilled to see her granddaughter again, I think she may be equally excited to get another cup of coffee. You see, mom drank her very first cup of coffee at the original Starbucks in Pike Place Market during her visit to Seattle four weeks ago.
We enjoyed the barista's commemoration of the event.

She drank her second cup the following night after dinner. I think Dad feared we may have created a monster.

For Grandma

Grandma reminded me this afternoon that I need to post more pictures of Calais Virginia. I'll keep working on it.

Rollin' Over

If my previous post left you with the impression that I intend to post updates from the last three months in chronological order, you may be quite surprised by the video below. Although I'm not unlike most parents in thinking their child is exceptional, I don't wish to be deceptive - Calais did not spring from the womb with the talent to roll over. Can you imagine? She would be one precocious child.

Anyone else reminded of Gregor Samsa? Maybe he wasn't a bug at all; maybe he simply regressed to a state of early infancy!

If you get this reference, you either like literature or you have an older sister who loves Kafka.
If you find my reference humorous...well, I'm grateful you exist.

You know you haven't blogged in a while when...

...your wife is still pregnant in the last post even though your daughter is 11 weeks old.

Maybe now that I'm a stay at home dad, I'll start blogging more. Maybe I'll pretend like the last three months haven't happened yet, and I'll start blogging like everything is new.

41 weeks and counting

No baby yet. So far, we've been thankful that our little girl is arriving late. After finishing her last day of work on Monday, Ashley's had the week to rest, relax, and spend time with friends, and hopefully, the rest will be a huge benefit during labor.
On the other hand, we're hoping that labor begins soon so that we don't need to induce! The other issue is that the birth center won't allow us to use their facility after 42 weeks. Of course, it's not the end of the world to give birth in the hospital, but it's not our ideal plan.

I'll try to provide another update soon for the three of you still reading this blog!
