Down with Daylight Savings

What's the deal with daylight savings?

We save daylight during the time of year when the days are already longer!
Then, when days get shorter, we take an hour of daylight away.

This is ridiculous. Instead of having daylight until 10 pm in the summer and 5 pm in the winter, why don't we switch it around so that daylight always lasts until around 7 or 8:00. It seems more consistent to me.

Of course, this comes from a man who is never awake early enough to know how the morning hours are affected...

Let me just say, as a born Hoosier, I didn't change my clocks until I was 24 living in Ohio. I lived 24 years and my clocks never changed...the time was just the time, and I never knew the difference. Of course now Indiana is on Daylight Savings too...but I will always cherish my years of never having to wonder if my internal clock would ever adjust. I'm with you...down with Daylight Savings time!

This was on my mind to blog about this week. I hate the time change. Kids + time change = disaster. In an attempt to get the kids on our new schedule, I was trying to keep Lydia awake for her nap on Sunday afternoon. About a half hour before I was going to put her to bed, she literally lied down on the wood floor in the kitchen with her paci and blanket, attempting to sleep. She's still hasn't adjusted yet. She's cranky pants, and I'm cranky pants too. Poop on the time change.

If I had a vote, you know what it would be! Although, it didn't seem to matter this time. Vacation alters your outlook!
